For one month only, BARANG takes over the deli at Mare Street Market King’s Cross.

Founded by Bristol-born chef Tom Geoffrey in 2023, BARANG has built its reputation on Cambodian-inspired cooking, shaped by frequent trips to the country since 2017. What began as a run of sell-out pop-ups and residencies, including a celebrated seven-month stint above the Globe Tavern in Borough Market, and kitchens taken over from Bangkok to New York, arrives here ahead of BARANG’s first permanent home in Soho later this year.

It’s a fitting home for it. Mare Street Market has always been more than a place to eat and drink, it’s a launchpad for talent, a space where creative projects, chefs, brands and culture are given room to grow. From Island restaurant upstairs to the BARANG takeover in the deli, the building is built around backing bold ideas and giving them a platform.

Expect big flavours, and a menu drawn straight from Tom’s travels. Running 5 August to 5 September.
